2002 BUELL M2 MOTORCYCLE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DEFECTIVE PIRELLI SCORPION TIRE *TGW WHILE RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CONSUMER LOST STEERING IN THE FRONT TIRE AND ALMOST CRASHED, BUT HIS ARM STRENGTH PREVENTED IT FROM HAPPENING. WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED, THE CONSUMER GRABBED THE HANDLE BARS AND EXERTED OVER 150 POUNDS OF PRESSURE, ALONG WITH DECREASING DECELERATION TO 40 MPH, THEN TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT AND THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ANYTHING PENETRATING THE TIRE. THE…

02V003000 · Suspension:Front:Shock Absorber
Reported: 2002-01-04 (January 4, 2002)
CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES WERE BUILT WITH A FRONT SHOCK MOUNT THAT IS CRACKED AND COULD BREAK ALLOWING THE SUSPENSION TO DROP UNEXPECTEDLY.
Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BROKEN SHOCK MOUNT. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JANUARY 9, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT BUELL AT 1-414-342-4680.
