MY CAR WAS IN FOR ROUTINE CARE FOR INSPECTION II WHEN IT WAS DISCOVERED BY THE SHOP THAT I HAD SUFFERED AND EXHAUST CAM FAILURE, WHICH IS COMMON WITH EARLIER ENGINES, BUT WAS REPORTEDLY NOT A PROBLEM WITH MINE PER BMW NA. THIS FAILURE RESULTS IN CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE, AND DEPENDING ON THE SPEED ONE IS TRAVELING AT, POTENTIAL DRIVER INJURY. MY CAR HAS ~43000 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED NEW. *TR
