THE ISSUE IS WITH BOTH FRONT DOORS INTERMITTENTLY NOT OPENING WITH THE DOUBLE DOOR PULL WHEN STOPPED AND PARKED AFTER THE AUTO LOCKING SPEED ENGAGED THE DOOR LOCKS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 BMW 750 LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS GRAY AND WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST TAILPIPES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALKER BMW LOCATED AT 6655 COLISEUM BLVD, ALEXANDRIA, LA 71303 TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE VALVE STEM SEALS WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. The contact owns a 2014 BMW 750LI. The contact stated while the vehicle was receiving a routine oil change, the check engine warning light illuminated. The failure was diagnosed by an independent mechanic as a PCV valve failure that need to be replaced and properly sealed. The contact stated that the hoses were brittle and fuel was leaking. The contact stated that the independent mechanic also received a message that the vehicle was running lean. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2014 BMW 750LI. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, there was an abnormal gasoline odor of gasoline inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway at his residence, he smelled the gasoline odor. Reported: 2017-06-14 (June 14, 2017)
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2013-2015 740i, 740Li, 740Lxi, 750i, 750xi, 750Li and 750Lxi and 2014 ActiveHybrid 7 vehicles. The affected vehicles may have received incorrect replacement left rear taillight assemblies. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence: Vehicles with the incorrect left rear lamp assemblies may be less conspicuous to other drivers, possibly increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: BMW will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace any incorrect left rear taillight assemblies, free of charge. The recall began August 11, 2017. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
