The VIN# is actually a 2026 Bluebird Vision bus. We have had several of our school buses from bluebird co. have thesame issue of the brake pedal activating the lights without driver's input. Which causes the engine ecm not to let the driver accelerate or keep speed the same. We have replaced brake switch multiple times and still have these issues. We have adjusted the switches and the pedal mechanism but will only last so long before problem comes back. I had the bus for the VIN# in this form cause the bus to decelerate going uphill on a t…

25V289000 · Seats:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2025-05-06 (May 6, 2025)

Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026 Vision and All American school buses equipped with a lap belt-ready or 3-pt seats. The seat mounting fasteners may have been improperly tightened. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems," 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages," and 222, "School Bus Passenger Seating and Crash Protection."

Consequence: A seat with loose fasteners may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Blue Bird will replace the seat fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 2, 2025. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R25DM.

25V635000 · Parking Brake:Electrical:Control Module:Software

Reported: 2025-09-23 (September 23, 2025)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Vision school buses. The brake interlock software may unintentionally activate the parking brake at any driving speed.

Consequence: A bus that stops suddenly without warning, increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the brake interlock software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2025. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R25DS.

25V851000 · Equipment Adaptive/Mobility:Wheelchair Restraints/Securement:Latch/Anchor:

Reported: 2025-12-10 (December 10, 2025)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Vision and All American school buses equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Blue Bird will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 29, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

25V852000 · Equipment Adaptive/Mobility:Wheelchair Lift/Ramp

Reported: 2025-12-10 (December 10, 2025)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Vision school buses. The wheelchair lift may have a missing support brace, causing the wheelchair lift to fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 404, "Platform Lift Installations."

Consequence: A wheelchair lift that fails increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Blue Bird will install the missing support brace, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 4, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

26V032000 · Visibility:Glass, Side/Rear

Reported: 2026-01-22 (January 22, 2026)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Vision and All American school buses. The windows may have illegible DOT markings. As such these windows fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials."

Consequence: A missing DOT code mark may result in the window being replaced with an incorrect type of glass, increasing the risk of a injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the glass etching, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 19, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird's customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

26V466000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Foundation Components:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings

Reported: 2026-07-20 (July 20, 2026)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2027 Vision school buses. The exhaust hanger cotter pin may contact the hydraulic brake line, damaging the line and causing a brake fluid leak.

Consequence: A brake fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, a brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the exhaust hanger cotter pin. Dealers will also inspect and replace the brake lines as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

26V519000 · Electrical System:Wiring

Reported: 2026-08-10 (August 10, 2026)

Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2021-2024 and 2026-2027 Vision School Bus (Electric), and 2023-2027 Vision School Buses. The 12V power wire on one of the harnesses may become damaged and short circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short can cause a disruption to safety functions such as a loss of rear lighting or instrument panel warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will add an in-line fuse and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 9, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AG.

26V556000 · Equipment Adaptive/Mobility:Wheelchair Lift/Ramp:Controls/Control Wiring

Reported: 2026-08-31 (August 31, 2026)

Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Vision school buses equipped with Ricon K-Series wheelchair platform lifts. The electrical contactor may fail, preventing the controls from stopping the lift.

Consequence: A wheelchair lift that continues to move while occupied increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will correct the wiring by installing two diodes, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 30, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AH.
