Reported: 2025-12-10 (December 10, 2025)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Vision and All American school buses equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Blue Bird will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 29, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

26V032000 · Visibility:Glass, Side/Rear

Reported: 2026-01-22 (January 22, 2026)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Vision and All American school buses. The windows may have illegible DOT markings. As such these windows fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials."

Consequence: A missing DOT code mark may result in the window being replaced with an incorrect type of glass, increasing the risk of a injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the glass etching, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 19, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird's customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

26V246000 · Visibility:Windshield:Critical Fasteners

Reported: 2026-04-17 (April 17, 2026)

Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026-2027 All American school buses. The retention nuts between the wiper blades and the mounting arms may have been improperly tightened.

Consequence: Loose fasteners may cause the windshield wipers to become inoperative, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the fasteners as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 11. 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.
