WITH LESS THAN 10000 MILES OF HAULING (5000 MILES UNLOADED) THE WELDS ON THE TRAILER HAVE BROKEN THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FRAME INCLUDING FLOOR, NOSE CONE AND GOOSENECK. THERE ARE SEPARATING SEAMS AND SKIN PEELING FROM THE EXTRA SKIN PART OF THE TRAILER. IT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT BY AN INSPECTOR AND DEEMED TO HAVE STRUCTURAL FAILURE. THE TRAILER WAS PURCHASED NEW IN APRIL OF 2018. THE TRAILER IS NO LONGER TO BE SAFELY HAULED DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE WELDS AND PARTS.

Reported: 2017-05-17 (May 17, 2017)

Bison Coach, LLC (Bison) is recalling certain model year 2016-2018 Bison Horse Trailers, models Laredo, Premiere, Ranger, Silverado, Trail Boss and Trail Hand. These trailers contain incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) information on the Certification label. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

Consequence: If a trailer does not have the correct label, the users may overload the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Bison will notify owners and provide them with a corrected label, free of charge. The recall began on June 14, 2017. Owners may contact Bison customer service at 1-574-658-4161. Bison's number for this recall is 9011.
