Owner report 10638215 · 2014-09-22 (September 22, 2014)

WE LEASED AN AUDI S7 WHICH WE WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF HAVING A FUEL LINE ISSUE AT ANY TIME DURING THE TRANSACTION. THE DEALERSHIP MENTIONED THEY WERE DETAILING THE CAR AND GETTING IT READY FOR US. WHEN WE WENT INTO THE GARAGE TO SEE THE CAR, IT WAS NOT BEING DETAILED, BUT THE BACK SEATS WERE REMOVED AND GAS WAS BEING SIPHONED FROM THE VEHICLE. WE WERE SHOCKED AND ASKED THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS WHAT THE HECK THEY WERE DOING. WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY WERE PERFORMING SERVICE TO MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE RUNS WELL. THIS WAS VERY DECEPTIVE BUT SINCE WE HAD …

MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING BACK HOME FROM A 5 HR TRIP WHEN MY CAR STALLED COMPLETELY ON A 4 LANE FREEWAY. WE STOPPED AT-LEAST 4 TIMES DURING THE TRIP AND THE CAR STARTED WITH NO WARNING/SYMPTOMS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AT ALL. NO HESITATION ON THE POWER WHILE DRIVING. ABOUT 1 HOUR LEFT UNTIL WE GET HOME, WE HIT TRAFFIC AND LUCKILY WE DECIDED TO CHANGE 1 LANE TO THE RIGHT FROM THE FARTHEST LEFT(FAST LANE) BEFORE HITTING A FULL STOP. THAT MOMENT, CAR STALLED AND IT WON'T LET ME RESTART THE CAR. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON AS I CANNOT EVEN TUR…

TURBO WHEEL SHEARED OFF THE SHAFT AND STALLED THE CAR WHILE DRIVING AT < 5MPH IN PARKING LOT. UNABLE TO THEN START CAR AND MOVE IT - NEEDED TO BE PUSHED TO ONE SIDE TO AWAIT THE TOW TRUCK. THERE WERE NO SYMPTOMS OR WARNINGS OR CEL PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. OTHERS HAVE REPORTED SAME FAILURE AT HIGHER SPEEDS OR EVEN ON HIGHWAYS. THIS FAILURE MODE IS DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. AUDI SHOULD BE PERFORMING A RECALL ON THIS FOR ALL THE VEHICLES THEY INSTALL THIS ENGINE MODEL INTO. I WAS ONLY RECENTLY MADE AWARE OF THE ABILITY T…

DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY DURING A ROAD TRIP FROM FLORIDA TO WISCONSIN, OUR ENGINE STALLED WHILE COMING TO A STOP. WE MANAGED TO GET IT TO AN AUDI DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED BOTH TURBOCHARGERS WERE BROKEN. BOTH SHAFTS HAD SNAPPED AND THE CAR WAS UN-DRIVABLE LEAVING US STRANDED IN GEORGIA. THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE FOR THE 4.0T ENGINES AND VW/AUDI HAS REFUSED TO IMPLEMENT A FIX BESIDE THE OIL SCREEN BAND-AID. THE OIL SCREEN, SINCE IT IS NOT SERVICEABLE, WILL SLOWLY ACCUMULATE DEBRIS AND RESTRICT OIL FLOW TO THE TURBOS AND CAUSE THEM TO BE STARVED OF…

4 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

13V450000 · Fuel System, Gasoline:Delivery:Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings

Reported: 2013-09-23 (September 23, 2013)

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Audi S6 and S7 vehicles equipped with 4.0L engines. Due to manufacturing tolerance issues, a fuel line may leak fuel.

Consequence: A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, may result in a fire.

Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel line, free of charge. The safety recall is planned to begin in late October 2013. Owners may contact Audi of America at 1-800-822-2834. Volkswagen's number for this campaign is 20U6/L8.

18V096000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2018-02-07 (February 7, 2018)

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Audi S7 and 2016-2018 RS7 vehicles. The tire information label on these vehicles incorrectly lists the combined maximum weight as 1146 lbs/520 kg, when the correct combined maximum weight is actually 992 lbs/450 kg. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: If the operator were to load the vehicle based on information on the tire information label, they could overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Audi will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tire information label, free of charge. The recall began on March 9, 2018. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 44N9.

(Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Audi S6 and S7, 2012-2018 A7 and A6 Sedan, and 2014-2018 RS7 vehicles equipped with basic seats (with or without heating). Stress or wear of the body-sensing mat within the front passenger seat may cause the Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS) control module to malfunction.

Consequence: If the PODS module malfunctions, the front passenger air bag may not deploy properly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will install a PODS system repair kit, free of charge. The recall began November 29, 2018. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 74D5.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2013-2017 A8, S6 Sedan, S7, S8, and 2014-2017 RS7 vehicles. The turbocharger oil supply strainer can become blocked, causing wear to the bearings due to lack of lubrication.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the oil strainer and perform an oil change, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 4, 2022. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 21H7.
