TRIUMPH ROCKET III MOTORCYCLE, MFD. 2007 AND EARLIER, BUILT BEFORE VIN 337294: ENGINE FAILURES (CAMSHAFT DRIVE CHAIN TENSIONER AND SPROCKETS), TRANSMISSION FAILURES (TORSIONAL DAMPER SHAFT BEARINGS, 2-4TH GEAR BUSHINGS AND THRUST WASHERS, DETENTE ARM AND GEAR POSITION SHAFT) AND ELECTRICAL FAILURES (IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS, INSTRUMENT HARNESS, AND MAIN HARNESS CONNECTOR), EACH RENDERING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING. 2005+ TRIUMPH ROCKET III MOTORCYCLE. IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE, CAUSING ENGINE CUT-OFF WHILE MOVING. WIDESPREAD PROBLEM BASED ON RESEARCH...CAUSE APPEARS TO BE MALFUNCTION OF WIRING INSIDE KEY SWITCH HOUSING (SOLDER JOINT BREAKS, CAUSING INTERMITTENT POWER TO ENGINE). SPOKE TO TRIUMPH DEALER WHO STATES THEY ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM, BUT TRIUMPH WILL NOT COVER REPAIR OF PART ON OUT-OF-WARRANTY VEHICLES. *TR

MOTORCYCLE HAS A CHRONIC THROTTLE PROBLEM WHICH CAN CAUSE THE BIKE TO EITHER STALL AT LOW SPEED OR HAVE IT RACE. THE BIKE KEEPS MOVING WITH THE THROTTLE ALL THE SAY CLOSED. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM AND NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THROTTLE LINKAGE. THE DATE I ENTERED IS THE LAST TIME IT OCCURRED. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT AND CONTINUING PROBLEM. *TR
