ON AUGUST 18TH, I WAS DRIVING MY HUSBAND'S 2015 TOYOTA VENZA. I ORDINARILY DO NOT DRIVE IT AS THE VEHICLE HAS A SURGING FORWARD PROBLEM. WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOD OFF THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD WHICH ONE CAN COMPENSATE BY QUICKLY HITTING THE BRAKE PEDAL. MY HUSBAND HAS GOTTEN USED TO THE CAR DOING THIS SO IT DOES NOT BOTHER HIM. ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY, I WAS DRIVING ALONG A 2-LANE ROAD ON A SOMEWHAT MAIN ROAD WITH SOME BUSINESSES ON EITHER SIDE AND I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH. I TURNED FROM A STOP ON A CITY STREET INTO A SMALL PARKING LOT. WHILE BRAKING IN THE PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE ACCELARATED. I HIT THE BRAKES HARDER AND THE VEHICLE WENT FASTER, JUMPING THE CONCRETE BUMPER, ONLY STOPPING WHEN I HIT A PARKED CAR.
