After stopping at a stop sign I attempted to cross the traffic to enter another lane. When I began to proceed I lost all power to the vehicle. The engine was still running but the accelerator pedal had no effect on the engine. As i was trying to cross the traffic, the vehicles I was trying avoid were now having to brake for me because I was in the middle of the road with no power. At a four way stop, four cars were stopped waiting for a car with right of way to turn left. Car turning left hesitated. I began to accelerate since myself and another car going straight had next right of way. Another car began to enter intersection so I let off the throttle and began to apply brakes for them to clear the intersection. Engine seems to stall at acceleration from low speed. Basically, a dead pedal response. For instance, upon slowing down to near stop to enter a roundabout or an unmarked 4 way intersection(yield to enter intersection without stopping) vehicle has noticed throttle lag. Any attempt to accelerate even mildly into the roundabout or intersection results in a dead pedal for a second or two. No response from engine, truck feels like it’s going to die. Truck Purchased new on 2/8/2024. A couple weeks later at approximately 1700 miles on the odometer the driveline started developing an intermittent shimmy between 40 and 65 MPH. Truck currently has 2026 miles on it. Dealership informed and are saying that this shimmy is as designed and therefore not an issue. Shimmy is progressively getting worse and being that nobody knows why it is happening I do not know if something is in the process of failing and might potentially fail at highway speed. Purchased 2024 Toyota Tundra from dealer brand new with 3 miles. Noticed tapping noise coming from engine area. Reported to Service and Toyota specialists claimed to be normal. Same day recall 24TA07 was reported for engine debris found from production machining. Dealer suggested to take to another dealer for second opinion. Second dealer also claimed it is normal, but still they are replacing torque converter and transmission to try and eliminate the noise that they claim is normal. I previously owned a 2022 Toyota Tundra that had the same fuel gauge malfunction. It was repurchased under the Texas Lemon Law since Toyota was unable to provide a repair after a year and a half. Now I have a 2024 Toyota Tundra with the same malfunction. The fuel gauge on the dashboard will reset to 3/4s to full tank of gas after starting and stay that way until you refuel the truck even though the tank may only have 1/2 tank or close to empty. Repeated resetting of fuel gauge to full without filling the gas tank. Have reported this problem and dealer tried to remedy but apparently not fixed. Truck filled on 9/18/24 and everything normal. Fuel gauge and miles to empty reset on 9/24/24 after having driven 59.5 miles. MPG stayed the same. Reported fuel gauge problem previously in electrical category. Fuel gauge will reset itself to full without filling the gas tank. This has happened on 3 occasions with only 1000 miles on the vehicle. Have been to the dealership on several occasions with no permanent solution so far. First attempt at fix was to reprogram the combination meter and the gauge did accurately show the full level. I am the second owner of a 2024 Toyota Tundra that is branded as a manufacturer buyback/lemon. The first owner had the engine short block replaced at around 31,000 miles due to bearing failure. I later bought this truck at around 36,000 miles specifically because Toyota stated that the engine problem had been fixed with the short-block replacement. Fuel gauge will reset itself to full without filling the tank . Has happened on 3 occasions with only 1000 miles on vehicle. Have been to dealership but the explanation from Toyota is it happens due to elevation and direction in which the vehicle is parked.
