Owner report 10135510 · 2005-09-07 (September 7, 2005)

2000 TUNDRA WITH 60,900 MILES ON IT. (RIGHT - 900 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY.) OVERDRIVE STARTED MAKING NOISE WHEN ENGAGING AND WHINE WHILE DRIVING. OUT OF OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION SOUND FINE. BROUGHT TO DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND THEY HAD DISTRICT REP DRIVE IT. DETERMINED THAT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT THEY WILL NOT COVER ANY OF IT. CALLED THE MANUFACTURE AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR MANUFACTURER WILL GET ME IN CONTACT WITH THE DISTRICT MANAGER WHO MADE DECISION. *NM

Owner report 10267015 · 2009-04-27 (April 27, 2009)

AFTER WATCHING A NEWS REPORT CONCERNING THE 2000 TUNDRA FRAME ROT WE INSPECTED OUR VEHICLE AN FOUND THAT THE FRAME AND SPRINGS HAD EXCESSIVE RUST AND CORROSION AS WELL AS ON THE DRIVE SHAFT. WE ALSO REACHED BEHIND THE FRAME THAT WE COULD NOT SEE AND MAJOR RUST FLAKES WERE COMING OFF AS WE PUT PRESSURE ON THEM. WE ALSO HAVE VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEN TRAVELING BETWEEN 60 AND 70 MPH. THE TRUCK ALSO TENDS TO LURCH AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN IN AN IDLE POSITION WHEN YOU PUT THE GEAR SHIFT INTO DRIVE. WE HAVE GONE THROUGH TWO NEW BREAK JOBS IN 2 YEARS…

2000 TOYOTA TUNDRA BRAKE VIBRATION PROBLEM - BRAKES CAN CAUSE VIOLENT VIBRATION OF FRONT AND REAR OF VEHICLE WHICH CAN CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL ON WET SURFACES DUE TO BOUNCING OF VEHICLE. I AM SURPRISE THE NHTSA HAS NOT REQUESTED RECALL DUE TO THE VOLUME OF COMPLAINTS PLACED WITH THE ADMINISTRATION. TOYOTA SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
