TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CEMENT BARRIER ON THE DRIVER SIDE WITHOUT WARNING. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN COLD TEMPERATURES, THIS VEHICLE MODEL (ACCORDING TO THE DEALER) DOES NOT SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE RIGHT AWAY WHEN DRIVING FROM A COLD-START. THIS CAUSING A MOMENTARY ACCELERATION WHEN BRAKING AND PRESENTS AN UNEXPECTED SAFETY ISSUE. MY 2016 TOYOTA SIENNA THAT HAS 16,000 MILES WAS PARKED AT HOME AND I WENT TO GO START IT AND IT STALLED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO HENDRICK TOYOTA OF APEX, NC AND THEY TOLD ME THAT RODENTS CHEWED THREW THE WIRING AND IT WAS NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND TO TOYOTA.
