TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH, THE BRAKES SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT WHEN ENGAGING THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL FAILED TO DEPRESS AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,400.

AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A DRY AND LEVEL INTERSECTION,WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, I FELT THE BRAKE PEDAL LOOSEN UP AND THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL FORWARD. THE CAR CAME TO A STOP AFTER I PUSHED VERY HARD ON THE PEDAL. IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN A SINGLE DAY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,300. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 40-45 MPH, A VEHICLE RAN THE STOP SIGN ON A SIDE STREET ON TO THE STREET MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON, AND SHE HIT THE VEHICLE BROADSIDE. HER SAFETY BELT WAS SECURELY FASTENED, HOWEVER THE SHOULDER PORTION OF THE BELT GAVE WAY, AND MY WIFE STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL WITH HER CHEST, PINNING HER WRIST IN BETWEEN HERSELF AND THE STEERING WHEEL. THE AIRBAGS ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
