DT*: THE CONTACT STATED FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK WHILE AT A STOP. THE CONTACT MADE TEMPORARY REPAIRS THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED. ALSO, WHILE WASHING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED A CRACK IN THE FRAME UNDER THE HANDLE BARS. THE VEHICLE IS NOW INOPERABLE BECAUSE OF THE CRACK. THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER WERE ALERTED. *AK UPDATED 07/05/06. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SWIFT BAR CHOPPER. HE NOTICED GAS ON THE MOTORCYCLE AND ON HIS CLOTHES AFTER RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE FOR TEN MILES. THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE TANK ON TOP BACKSIDE. THE GAS TANK WAS MADE OF ALUMINUM. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REPLACE THE GAS TANK. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 3,846.
