TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI GSX-R600. WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE CONTACT SMELLED AN ODOR AS IF THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WERE ON FIRE. SHORTLY AFTER, THE VEHICLE STALLED. HE NOTICED THAT THE MAIN FUSE HAD BURNED AND WAS LATER REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE CHARGING SYSTEM RECTIFIER. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,971.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI GSX-R600. THE CONTACT STATED THE MOTORCYCLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING 30 MPH WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD THE MOTORCYCLE TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. THE MECHANIC STATED THE REGULATOR COULD HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THERE WAS ONLY A RECALL RELATED TO 2008/2009 MODEL VEHICLES. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,914.

I WAS RIDING MY BIKE AND MY BUDDIES BEHIND ME SMELLED A SULFUR SMELL RODE ABOUT 15 MORE MILES AND THE BIKE SHUT OFF PULLED IN TO PARK IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND THE SULFUR SMELL WAS 10X WORSE AND HAD TO TOW THE BIKE HOME. THE DASH WENT ALL CRAZY FLASHING AND SHUT ON AND OFF AND THEN AN F1 CODE POPPED UP. SO THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC AND MY BATTERY WAS BAD,HE SAID THE REGULATOR RECTIFIER WAS OVER CHARGING THE BATTERY. *TR

MY SON SUDDENLY LOST POWER ON HIS 2007 SUZUKI GSXR600 MOTORCYCLE WHILE OPERATING AT LOW SPEED. TECHNICIAN FOUND AND REPLACED A BLOWN FUSE. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE SAME THING OCCURRED. THE PROBLEM FUSE WAS THE ONE RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP. TECHNICIAN THEN DISCOVERED THE WIRE HARNESS HAD SHORTED OUT DUE TO BEING ROUTED TOO CLOSE TO THE "TENSIONER". MY SON SAID THIS POWER LOSS COULD BE FATAL IF IT WERE TO OCCUR WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CURVE AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I SEE THAT SUZUKI HAD A RECALL FOR A SIMILAR PROBLEM IN A 2006 MODEL: NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID…
