TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 SCION XB. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED HOWEVER WAS LOSE. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AND CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT CALLED MARKQUART TOYOTA (1844 COMMERCIAL BLVD, CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI 54729[phone removed]) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DEALER IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AS "FOUND SPIRAL CABLE FAILED. INTERNAL PARTS FAILURE, SPIRAL CABLE IS BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL AND CONTROLS THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG UNIT" QUOTED COST OF REPAIR: $552 ON TOP OF THE $130 ALREADY SPENT TO DISCOVER THE CAUSE .
