Owner report 10551232 · 2013-11-07 (November 7, 2013)

SIMILAR TO THE REASON FOR THE RECALL ON THE PONTIAC G6, MY SATURN'S BRAKE LIGHTS WORK IN REVERSE AT TIMES. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGES OR REFUSES TO ENGAGE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT. IF IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I GET REAR-ENDED. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, THE "FIX" ON THE PONTIAC G6 WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AND THESE DRIVERS FACE SIMILAR CONSEQUENCES ONCE AGAIN. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE BRAKING DISTANCE INCREASED AND THE SERVICE ESC, SERVICE TRACTION, AND SERVICE VEHICLE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

Owner report 10884094 · 2016-07-11 (July 11, 2016)

POSSIBLE LEAK IN AREA OF FUEL TANK, STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE, ESPECIALLY AFTER DRIVING FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME. I BELIEVE THE SEAL BETWEEN THE FUEL TANK AND THE FUEL PUMP IS LEAKING. IT APPEARS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SATURN ION (RECALL NUMBER 12V459000).
