CONSUMER HAD TO WORK AT DRIVING TO CONSTANTLY CORRECT THE VEHICLE'S WANDERING AND SWAYING. (NAR) *PH THE MANUFACTURER ASSURED THE CONSUMER THAT IT WAS SIMPLY A MATTER OF CORRECTING THE TIRE PRESSURE TO GET THE RV TO STEER PROPERLY. AFTER CHANGING THE TIRE PRESSURE SEVERAL TIMES THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE CONSUMER HAD A STEERING STABILIZING PACKAGE INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. UNFORTUNATELY THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. THE CONSUMER REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIRS MADE TO IMPROVE THE VEHICLE'S INSTABILITY. *NM

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SAFARI COACH TREK RV. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V226000 (STEERING). THE AUTHORIZED DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL; HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN REQUESTED THAT HE CALL BACK WITHIN 30 DAYS IN REGARDS TO THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS DISPLEASED TO KNOW THAT THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE RESOLUTION AT THIS TIME. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000.

THE CONSUMER STATED THE MOTOR HOME HAS A HARNESS THAT WAS FASTENED AND HELD TOGETHER BY PLASTIC. IN EXTREME HEAT THE PLASTIC MOUNTS MELTED AND CAUSED A SHORT CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS TO FAIL. THE BATTERIES BURNED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OPERATE ON THE CHASSIS BATTERY. THE OTHER BATTERY EXPLODED. VEHICLE IS NOW AT THE R.V. CENTER. *JB THE RED POSITIVE CABLE CONNECTING THE BATTERIES TO THE ALTERNATOR, GENERATOR, CHARGERS AND ISOLATOR WAS INSTALLED TOO LONG BY THE MANUFACTURER.
