CERTAIN TRAILERS, EQUIPPED WITH TRUCK-LITE BRAND MODEL 44,40 OR 30 STOP/TAIL LIGHT AND FRONT/REAR SIDE MARKER LIGHTS WITH NO REFLEX LENS OR REFLECTIVE MATERIAL, FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, 'LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT. '
Consequence: A REFLEX LENS OR REFLECTIVE MATERIAL IS NOT INCORPORATED IN THE LIGHTS. THIS REDUCED LIGHTING LEVEL WILL AFFECT DRIVERS VISIBILITY AND A CRASH MAY OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL MAIL TO OWNERS A WRITTEN NOTIFICATION ALONG WITH INSTRUCTIONS, DIAGRAMS AND PARTS TO APPLY A 4-RED AND 2 AMBER SAE A 90 ADHESIVE BACKED REFLECTORS. OWNERS MAY ALSO HAVE DEALERS PERFORM THE WORK. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 25, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WOOD MANUFACTURING AT 612-337-1859.
