WHILE PREPARING FOR A TRIP IN THE TRAILER, THE SMELL OF HOT ELECTRICAL WIRES WAS NOTED. UPON SEARCHING FOR THE SOURCE OF THE SMELL, A FIRE WAS NOTED ON A PLASTIC (PVC) PIPE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED, THEN THE SOURCE OF THE HEAT WAS SEARCHED FOR. OTHER MATERIALS WERE BURNED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRAILER. AFTER MOVING SOME INSULATION AND OTHER MATERIALS AND SOOT, THE SOURCE OF THE FIRE WAS LOCATED. THE CABLE RUNNING FROM THE BATTERY TO THE POWER CENTER WAS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE STEEL FLOOR FRAME AND THE WOODEN WALL FRAME. APPARENTLY THE …

WALLS SUPPORTING REFRIGERATOR ARE BUCKLING IN 2003 R-VISION TRAIL-BAY 27DS TRAVEL TRAILER. PROBLEM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED TO R-VISION BY NUMEROUS OWNERS (REFER TO R-VISION CAMPING CLUB WEB SITE FOR NUMEROUS PERSONS WITH PROBLEM HTTP://WWW.R-VISIONCAMPING.ORG) R-VISION STATES THAT IT IS NOT A VEHICLE DEFECT. FAILURE OF SUPPORTS COULD LEAD TO COLLAPSE OF REFRIGERATOR AND SEVERING OF ELECTRICAL AND PROPANE LINES. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 R-VISION TRAIL LITE MOTOR HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A WORKHORSE CHASSIS THAT WAS BUILT BY WORKHORSE, BUT WAS LISTED AS A P32 CHASSIS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V084000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CALIPERS ON THE VEHICLE BECAME STUCK AND BURNED, THE SAME FAILURE AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
