78V178000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Power Assist:Vacuum

Reported: 1978-08-16 (August 16, 1978) · Model years: 1977, 1978

WATER COULD ACCUMULATE BETWEEN THE MOUNTING SURFACE OF THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER UNIT AND THE FRONT SURFACE OF THE PEDAL SUPPORT BRACKET TO WHICH IT IS ATTACHED. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME, THE WATER COULD CAUSE CORROSION, WHICH WOULD HINDER THE FREE MOVEMENT OF THE POWER BOOSTER PISTON IN ITS GUIDE CHANNEL.

Remedy: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

80V110000 · Equipment:Appliance:Air Conditioner

Reported: 1980-08-27 (August 27, 1980) · Model years: 1979, 1980

THE AIR CONDITIONING UNITS ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN FILLED WITH AN UNECESSARILY LONG LENGTH OF WIRE FROM THE BLOWER SPEED CONTROL RESISTORS TO THE EVAPORATOR BLOWER MOTOR. DUE TO THE LENGTH OF THE WIRE, CHAFING OR PINCHING MAY OCCUR AT SOME POINT, CAUSING A SHORT CIRCUIT. THIS WILL STOP THE MOTOR.

Remedy: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, MODIFY THE LENGTH OF THE BLOWER MOTOR WIRE WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.
