OUR DRIVER WAS IN TOW WITH A VEHICLE WHEN HE STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS, WE ADVISED HIM TO RETURN TO THE YARD TO SWAP TRUCKS AND COMPLETE THE CALL THIS WAS ON 3/23/2020. BEING SHORT HANDED DUE TO THE STAY AT HOME ORDER WE DOWNED THE TRUCK UNTIL WE HAD ENOUGH STAFFING TO DELIVER IT TO PETERBILT FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIRS WHICH TOOK PLACE ON 3/30/2020. Right side transmission stalk failed. Truck shut down and was only able to get partially out of 4 lane highway. Truck had to be towed as it would not reset/clear. Dealer replaced transmission stalk. Despite there being a safety recall for these devices (24v-190), and this truck meeting all requirements to be included in the recall, Peterbilt says it is not included and is currently offering no cost covered repair. We also had another truck have the same issue a few months ago.

received truck yesterday , inspected the vehicle with wheels chocked and the emergency brake released 3 out of the 4 brake chamber hoses were leaking on the emergency side of the drive axel brake chambers. With the foot brake depressed driver side steer axel brake chamber service port hose leaked also.

VEHICLE WOULD WANDER LEFT AND RIGHT WITHIN THE LANE ONCE UP TO ABOUT 40 MPH. SYMPTOMS FELT AS IF ALIGNMENT WAS OFF, OR AS IF TIRES WERE FOLLOWING A RUT IN THE PAVEMENT. ONCE VEHICLE WAS LOADED, STEERING WHEEL WOULD BE CLOCKED ABOUT 10-15 DEGREES TO THE LEFT WHILE VEHICLE TRACKED STRAIGHT. DRIVER WOULD HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY APPLY CORRECTIVE INPUT TO THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM DIVING LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. The contact owns 2024 Peterbilt 567. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, there was a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driving to the dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the fuel tank was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was attempted to be notified; however, the manufacturer was no longer in business. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
