94V104000 · Vehicle Speed Control

Reported: 1994-06-08 (June 8, 1994) · Model years: 1992, 1993, 1994

A THROTTLE CONTROL CABLE WITH AN INNER "STEEL SHIELDED" COMPONENT WAS SUBSTITUTED FOR A CABLE WITH AN INNER "STEEL STRANDED" COMPONENT IN A DESIGN WHICH REQUIRES A MINIMUM BEND RADIUS OF 4 INCHES. THE INNER "STEEL SHIELDED" CABLE HAS A MINIMUM BEND RADIUS OF 8 INCHES, AND CAN BIND OR BREAK IN ITS CURRENT USE IN THE THROTTLE ASSEMBLY.

Consequence: THIS CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.

Remedy: REPLACE THE ENTIRE CABLE A NEW CABLE WITH THE SPECIFIED 4 INCH RADIUS CAPABILITY.
