THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM FROM DAY ONE BECAUSE OF CALIPERS FREEZING DUE TO RUST. DURING INSPECTION FRAME WAS WITNESSED TO BE BADLY RUSTED NEEDING CONSTANT CARE. GAS TANK HAS RUSTED THOU AT THE TOP & NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER FAILED AT 32103 MILES AND NEEDED AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. IT NEEDED THIS REPAIR AT THE MOMENT IT LEFT THE DEALER REPAIR SHOP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE BEING REPAIRED FOR THE SECOND TIME, (WORKED GOING IN NOTICED THAT SPEEDOMETER STOPPED UPON LEAVING). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 NISSAN PICK UP XE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR STATE INSPECTION, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER IN REGARD TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:11V244000 (STEERING AND SUSPENSION), BUT WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR THE 1997 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
