SLAMMED ON BRAKES (EMERGENCY STOP) CENTER LANE OF HIGHWAY DUE TO CAR IN FRONT BEING CUT OFF. LARGE TRUCK BEHIND ME SO I TRIED TO IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE TO AVOID BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. PRESSED GAS PEDAL TO FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED! TOTALLY QUIET (ELECTRIC STILL ENGAGED) AND I WAS A SITTING DUCK! FORTUNATELY, TRUCK ABLE TO SWERVE INTO LEFT LANE, BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT GETTING ACCURATE FUEL MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,200.

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DARCARS NISSAN (LOCATED AT 15911 INDIANOLA DR, ROCKVILLE, MD 20855, [phone removed]) TO BE DIAGNOSED.
