CATERPILLAR "C7" ENGINES FUEL SYSTEM FAILURES. WHILE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE ENGINE LOST POWER LIMITING SPEED TO AS LOW AS 35 MPH. LATER INVESTIGATION FOUND THE HEUI FUEL PUMP FAILED DAMAGING TWO INJECTORS. THE ENGINE HAS 57,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE SOURCING PARTS IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THIS ENGINE FROM 2004 AND LATER (ACERT C7) HAS A PROBLEM WHERE THE HEUI PUMP WEARS AND SEND METAL PARTICLES INTO THE INJECTORS. THIS IS RELATIVE TO THE ONGOING INVESTIGATION #EA07016, BRAKE FAILURES ON WORKHORSE W-22 MOTORHOME CHASSIS. MY MOTORHOME WAS BUILT ON A W-22 CHASSIS IN DECEMBER 2003. IN MAY 2007 A ROUTINE BRAKE INSPECTION REVEALED THAT A SERIOUS CRACK HAD DEVELOPED IN THE BRAKE ROTOR ON THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL. THE ODOMETER READING AT THE TIME WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES.
