Owner report 11726005 · 2026-03-21 (March 21, 2026)
Mercedes previously issued a software update for the battery fire risk, but we have received a letter more than a year later stating that this fix was not adequate. We pursued a vehicle buyback due to the safety risk this presents to my family, and Mercedes vehemently stated that the issue was resolved and the vehicle did not qualify. The vehicle is an inherent risk to my family's safety if it may just catch fire at any time.

Owner report 11558792 · 2023-12-06 (December 6, 2023)
We were driving along a 4 lane state road and the car suddenly applied the brakes hard and swerved to the right. A light blinked on the dash with a picture of the car and a red line on the right hand side. No cars were in the next lane over and there were no issues with the roadway. I was driving straight in the line and not near the left hand side of the Lane.

Owner report 11697675 · 2025-11-05 (November 5, 2025)
In December 2024, I brought my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB to Mercedes-Benz Beverly Hills for scheduled service. They told me the vehicle had a recall and booked me for a future appointment, but I was unable to attend because I was out of town. I called the dealer multiple times afterwards to reschedule, but they never told me the reason for the recall or explained the safety risk. I recently checked my VIN myself and discovered that the recall is related to a high-voltage battery defect that may cause sudden loss of power and battery fire. I was n…

Owner report 11725380 · 2026-03-18 (March 18, 2026)
The car is subject to a NHTSA recall 26V073. Mercedes has scheduled warranty repair for December 31, 2026, or more than 9 months from now. Our dealer advises that the scheduled date is just a holding date; there is no assurance that the repair will occur on or before that date. Mercedes has also said in writing that "the battery replacement remedy is not yet available" and that we should complain to NHTSA if Mercedes does not fix this problem in a reasonable time. In the meantime, we are instructed to park the car outside and not to charge …
