Owner report 11565093 · 2024-01-12 (January 12, 2024)

* My driving side front wheel climbed a small bump with a rock. I put my car on reverse and pressed the accelerator. The car first refused to reverse then went completely out of control. The engine produced a huge revving noise and the car accelerated, taking the car backward at high speed. I had no control. The car went off the road, climbed a hill at a 45 degree incline on one side of the road. It continued up the hill at high speed until it hit a tree. The impact caused about 1 foot of the passenger side to be a mangled mass of steel from t…

Owner report 11559645 · 2023-12-12 (December 12, 2023)

Around once a week, while utilizing the car in comfort mode, the car will appear to kick into neutral when stopped at a traffic light. When it’s time to accelerate, despite indicating it’s in drive, the car will not move as if it’s in neutral. The car must then be shifted into drive again to be able to move.

Owner report 11496489 · 2022-12-07 (December 7, 2022)

On December 3, 2022, my new 2023 AMG GLE53, with less than 300 miles on the odometer, completely failed to issue a Forward Collision Warning and to activate the Automatic Emergency Braking when approaching at approximately 25 mph a city intersection, causing an accident with a vehicle that was stopped at the traffic light. That misbehavior was very unexpected from a vehicle that is supposed to be equipped with very advanced modern technologies for the safety of passengers and other road users. We were lucky that there was no injury, but that ac…
