Owner report 11289204 · 2019-12-15 (December 15, 2019)

I HAVE SCENTED A STRONG, AND WORSENING, ODOR OF GASOLINE IN VEHICLE FOR QUITE A WHILE. I REMOVED BACK SEAT AND FUEL TANK ACCESS PANELS AND INSPECTED THE FUEL PUMPS. DRIVERS SIDE HAD RAW GASOLINE POOLED ON 2124703294 FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY. I CLEANED THE FUEL UP AND DROVE THE CAR WITH 1/4 TANK OF FUEL AND CHECKED AND FOUND FRESH FUEL LEAKING. I CLEANED AND LOOKED CLOSELY AND FOUND THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK (IT WAS STILL OOZING OUT AFTER VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR SOME TIME.) THE LITTLE PIPE THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR ON NON-AMG VEHICLES PLUGS IN…

Owner report 11390625 · 2021-01-29 (January 29, 2021)

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FUEL LEAK - FUEL STARTED TO LEAK FROM THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK, INSIDE THE CAR FROM UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE REAR PASSENGER SEAT. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLOSEST SHOP AVAILABLE WHEN HEAVY FUEL SMELLS WERE NOTICED INSIDE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. A LOCAL TIRE SHOP, HAMIL FIRESTONE, LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND IDENTIFIED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING DOWN THE FRAME TO THE ROAD. SOMEHOW GASOLINE WAS ACTUALLY LEAKING FROM INSIDE THE CAR. I CONTACTED MERCEDES CORP IMMEDIATELY AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK TO COLLECT THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO…

Owner report 11606763 · 2024-08-06 (August 6, 2024)

The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63. The contact stated while attempting to refuel the vehicle, the fuel tank door would not open unless the excessive force was used. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank door failure was a known manufacturing failure. The fuel tank door was replaced by the dealer on several occasions but the failure recurred. The vehicle was temporarily repaired with wiring to prevent the fuel tank door from closing. The manufactur…

The electronic steering lock failed resulting in my car being completely disabled. My safety was not at risk in this particular instance. I was left stranded in a parking lot at night.
