SPLINED SHAFT IN FIXED STEERING COLUMN IS TOO SHORT, CAUSING THE HUB OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO NOT FULLY SEAT IN THE TAPER.
Consequence: IF THE RETAINING NUT IS IMPROPERLY TORQUED, STEERING WHEEL CAN COME LOOSE AND STEERING CONTROL WOULD BE LOST AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
Remedy: REPLACE STEERING COLUMN.
