DT: THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT 35 MPH WHEN IT STALLED. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY STOPPED AND LOST STEERING AND BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES. THE VEHICLE USUALLY STALLS AT LOWER SPEEDS ABOUT 35 MPH. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED BEFORE FAILURE, ONLY AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE IS REGULARLY SERVICED. The contact owns a 1984 Lincoln Town Car. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact was able to pull the vehicle to the side of the roadway. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to be restarted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or local dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance.
