Starting in drive with the brakes depressed, when trying to accelerate with the gas pedal, the vehicle will not activate the engine from electric mode(EV). The car will not accelerate even with the gas pedal fully depressed. It has happened four times so far. Safety issue because when I’m pulling out into traffic to make a left or right turn, the car will not accelerate and therefore can get hit by oncoming traffic, especially when I am trying to merge into a lane with oncoming traffic. My Lexus TX 500h has an intermittent problem. It seems to have trouble shifting between 1st gear and second gear. Sometimes when I try to drive from a stop, the car will go a tiny bit and then feels like it switches into neutral instead of the next gear, leaving me stopped in the middle of traffic or an intersection. Severe safety issue! Pulled the vehicle into the driveway after a drive and put the vehicle in park and turned the car off. With key still in the vehicle, exited vehicle, closed driver door and went to open drivers-side rear passenger door where 2 year old baby was in car seat.
