TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 LEXUS NX200T. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15.

TRAVELING ON ON H-1 EAST FREEWAY, NEAR THE RADFORD PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS, IN HONOLULU, HAWAII, ON WAY TO AIRPORT WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AND DID NOT WORK, CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. REPEATED COMPRESSION OF BRAKES FAILED TO SLOW OR STOP VEHICLE. BRAKES FAILED CAUSING DRIVER TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE.

VEHICLE SELF-STARTED WHILE UNATTENDED. AFTER START#2 CAR WAS CHECKED FOR DASH LIGHTS AND RUNNING ENGINE WHEN LEFT. UPON RETURN THE GAS TANK WAS HALF USED AND CAR WAS RUNNING. THIS OCCURRED TWICE MORE. CAR PARKED IN A PUBLIC PARKING AREA-IT HAS YET TO HAPPEN IN OUR DRIVEWAY, BUT AFTER READING ABOUT PEOPLE FORGETTING TO TURN OFF THEIR PUSHBUTTON START AUTOS AND SUCCUMBING TO EXHAUST GAS I WONDER IF THEY REALLY FORGOT OR THE CAR SELF STARTED LIKE OURS..

The contact owns a 2017 Lexus NX200T. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the electric fuel pump replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
