RECALL 95V157000 CONCERNING PULLEY CRANKSHAFT. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING ASSIST WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH. THIS WAS DUE TO THE DISENGAGEMENT OF THE ENGINE PULLEY. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER. DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT RECALL REPAIRS WERE ALREADY PERFORMED.*AK

LOST ALL STEERING. STEERING WHEEL TOTALLY DISCONNECTED. REPAIRS WERE REPLACE STEERING WHEEL COUPLER, CRUISE CASETTE AND ROTARY COUPLER, REAR TIE ROD ASSEMBLY. THE WHOLE THING SNAPPED, MOMENTS BEFORE PULLING ONTO THE HIGHWAY - CATASTROPHIC FAILURE, LUCKY NO ONE WAS KILLED. DEALER SAYS CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT (IT WAS NOT ). REPAIR PERSON SAID FAILURE WOULD HAVE OCCURRED AS AN IMMEDIATE RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT. CAR DRIVEN THE NIGHT BEFORE, NO ACCIDENT, EVER, NO PROBLEMS BEFORE COMPLETE FAILURE. CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN WHEN FAILURE OCCURRED.

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM LAND ROVER FOR MY SON'S 1995 RANGE ROVER. SAFETY RECALL ACTION B156- FUEL TANK CRACKING. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL LAND ROVER FOR REPAIR AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $400.00 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. STATING THAT IF THEY DAMAGED THE FUEL PUMP DURING THE RECALL, I WAS RESPONSIBLE TO PURCHASE A NEW ON AND HAVE IT INSTALLED (PART NUMBER WFE500740K). *NM
