TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JAYCO GRAYHAWK CLASS C RV. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V494000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE NEAREST AUTHORIZED DEALER TO THE CONTACT WAS OVER ONE HOUR AWAY. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO PAY A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT THEY COULD NOT AGREE ON A PRICE TO REMEDY THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REIMBURSE THE CONTACT FOR THE REPAIRS IF HE WERE TO PAY A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR PERFO…

ON SEPTEMBER 4 NIGHT A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL FIRE BROKE OUT INSIDE OUR NEW 2011 JAYCO 31SS. IT BURNED THROUGH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH CONNECTORS, WIRING AND PLASTIC BOX. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH AND TWO OTHER ELECTRONIC BOXES ARE UNDER THE BED AND THE FIRE COULD HAVE CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL BODILY DAMAGE AND/OR DEATHS. *KB ...UPDATED 08-03-12 *BF UPDATED 08/09/2012 *JS
