SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN JUNE 2017 THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND BRAKE CONTINUE TO FAIL THE CAR HAS BEEN IN DEALER SERVICE SINCE SEPT 15. JAGUAR SEEMS TO THINK ITS NO BIG DEAL. THE CAR JUST COMPLETELY INSTALLS WITH NO WARNING PUTTING MY SELF AND OTHER PEOPLE 'S LIVES AT RISK. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY FLAW.I HAVE VIDEOS BUT SYSTEM WILL NOT LET ME ATTACH.

THE VEHICLE, WHICH WAS LESS THAN 18 MOS OLD, WAS AT RANDOM TIMES HAVING DIFFICULTY STARTING (CHUGGING AND HESITATING). I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP, AND AFTER ONE DAY THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEN, ABOUT A WEEK LATER I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY SHUT OFF. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE AND PRESSED THE BUTTON TO START THE CAR, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN, I PRESSED IT AGAIN AND IT CHUGGED A LITTLE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE 75 HWY MY TIMING CHAIN BROKE (COMMON FOR THIS ENGINE, I AM FINDING OUT) AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF CAUSING ME TO BRAKE AND NEARLY GETTING REAR ENDED. THEN WHILE TRYING TO CROSS TWO LANES TRYING TO GET TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT ANY POWER, I NEARLY GOT HIT SEVERAL TIMES. BEYOND A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, TIMING CHAIN FAILURE RESULTING IN NEEDING NEW ENGINE.

The contact owns a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace. The contact stated while his wife was pulling into the driveway slowly, approximately 5 MPH, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration. The driver depressed firmly on the brake pedal with both feet to avoid the vehicle running into the house. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact had not notified the manufacturer of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
