TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 INTERNATIONAL CE SCHOOL BUS, MANUFACTURED BY NAVISTAR, INC. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE BRAKES SUDDENLY LOCKED. THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ROTORS WERE CORRODED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 43,000.

A 2013 INTERNATIONAL CE 3000 SPECIAL NEEDS LIFT BUS WAS ON A MORNING ROUTE WHICH HAS EXISTED FOR MANY YEARS. IT ENTERED AN APARTMENT COMPLEX DRIVEWAY WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. UPON EXITING THE APARTMENT COMPLEX THE BRAKE AIR TANK HIT AND RUBBED THE GROUND BREAKING OFF THREE VALVES. THE BUS ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 25 MORE FEET AND THEN THE BRAKES LOCKED. IT HAPPENED A SECOND TIME THIS YEAR. NONE OF OUR 230 OTHER BUSES IN OUR FLEET EVEN COME CLOSE TO IMPACTING THE GROUND AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX. THIS NEWER LOW AIR TANK CONFIGURATION IS AN EXTREME …

WE HAVE A FLEET OF 135 SCHOOL BUSES. OUR 2005 - 2014 INTERNATIONAL CE SCHOOL BUSES HAVE A DEFECT IN THE WIRING FOR THE ECM POWER SUPPLY. THE CIRCUIT OVERHEATS, MELTS THE CONNECTORS AND THE BUS SHUTS DOWN AND WILL NOT START. TWICE THIS WEEK WE VE HAD BUSES SHUT DOWN IN INTERSECTIONS. WE HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM ON ALMOST ALL OF THE 74 INTERNATIONAL BUSES WE HAVE. ALMOST ALL THE PLASTIC WIRE CONNECTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH BUTT CONNECTORS, BUT IT SEEMS THAT THE ELECTRICAL SHORT FINDS THE WEAK PINT OF THE SYSTEM. IT WILL BLOW THE FUSE , OR MELT T…

HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT 10/07. ELECTRICAL, WOULD NOT START IN COLD WEATHER, CONTINUAL DRAW ON BATTERIES REPLACED WITH NEW AND ALSO ADDED A THIRD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 INTERNATIONAL CE BUS. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT MOVED THE VEHICLE FROM THE ROADWAY AND DISCOVERED A FUSE HAD FAILED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE FUSE AND WHEN RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE EXAMINED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 35,000.
