Reported: 2006-06-02 (June 2, 2006) · Model years: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007

CERTAIN MY 2004 THROUGH 2007 CE AND BE SCHOOL BUSES AND 1300 AND 3300 MODEL VEHICLE CHASSIS MANUFACTURED BY IC CORPORATION BETWEEN MARCH 17, 2004, AND MAY 15, 2006. THE PARK BRAKE SYSTEM MAY ACTIVATE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS UNDER NORMAL OPERATION. ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE IS BROUGHT TO A STOP, THE ACTIVATION MAY OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING OR INPUT FROM THE DRIVER AND MAY STRAND THE VEHICLE IN AN ACTIVE LANE. THE SPRING APPLIED, HYDRAULIC RELEASE (SAHR) PARK BRAKE ACTUATOR COULD EXPERIENCE A HYDRAULIC LOCK CONDITION THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THE PARK BRAKE TO APPLY.

Consequence: SHOULD THE PARK BRAKE ACTIVATE AND STRAND THE VEHICLE, IT MAY CONTRIBUTE TO A VEHICLE CRASH, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH. SHOULD THE PARK BRAKE NOT APPLY, A VEHICLE ROLL AWAY CAN OCCUR AND MAY RESULT IN A CRASH, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE BUSES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN JULY 7, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT IC CORPORATION AT 800-322-2884 OR OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.

05V368000 · Parking Brake

Reported: 2005-08-26 (August 26, 2005) · Model years: 2005, 2006

CERTAIN MY 2005 THROUGH 2006 INTERNATIONAL HEAVY TRUCKS AND IC CORP CE SCHOOL BUSES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JUNE 4, 2004, AND MARCH 31, 2005. THE ANCHOR BOLT THAT IS THE PIVOT POINT FOR THE DRIVELINE PARKING BRAKE SHOES MAY FATIGUE AND BREAK AS A RESULT OF AN INCORRECT SURFACE TREATMENT.

Consequence: IF THE BOLT BREAKS, THE PARK BRAKE MAY NOT ENGAGE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY WITHOUT WARNING AND COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH.

Remedy: INTERNATIONAL RECALL NO. 00518. INTERNATIONAL WILL NOTIFY OWNER AND REPLACE THE AFFECTED ANCHOR BOLTS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 14, 2005. CUSTOMERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.

23V397000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Fluid

Reported: 2023-06-02 (June 2, 2023) · Model years: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2024

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2016 International DuraStar, 2018-2020 and 2023-2024 International 1300FBC Stripped chassis, 2019-2022 IC Bus CE Commercial bus, 2019-2024 IC Bus TC Commercial bus, and 2019-2024 International MV vehicles. The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.

Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch and if necessary, the wire harness or fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 29, 2023. Owners may contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 23517.

25V502000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Fluid

Reported: 2025-08-06 (August 6, 2025) · Model years: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2018 International 4000 Series 4300, 2017-2025 MV, 2018-2024 1300 FBC, 2018-2025 IC Bus TC, and 2024-2025 IC Bus CECB vehicles. The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.

Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a silicone black jumper harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 15, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25509. Vehicles previously repaired under 23V397 will need to have the new remedy completed.
