THE AIR VALVE APPLIES AIR TO THE AIR BRAKES SYSTEM. WHEN THE AIR VALVE BUTTON WAS DEPRESSED IT RELEASED THE AIR BRAKES. THE BUTTON TO ENGAGE THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM WAS LOCATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD WAS MADE OF A PLASTIC BACKING THAT CRACKED. WHEN THIS CRACKS THE AIR BRAKE IS INOPERATIVE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED AND INDICATED THAT THIS COMMON PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE AN IN HOUSE REMEDY FOR IT. THIS FAILURE IS ON A FLEET OF TRUCKS RANGING FROM MODEL YEAR 1999-2000. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS. *JB
