23V371000 · Service Brakes, Air:Antilock:Abs Warning Light

Reported: 2023-05-25 (May 25, 2023) · Model years: 2022, 2023, 2024

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2021-2024 IC Bus RE, 2022-2024 IC Bus CE, and IC Bus EV school buses. The anti-lock brake system (ABS) indicator light does not remain illuminated when a malfunction exists, and when the vehicle's ignition switch is on, and the vehicle is in motion. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: An ABS indicator light that fails to remain illuminated will not alert the driver of an ABS malfunction, which could increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 23516.

Reported: 2026-04-09 (April 9, 2026) · Model years: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2022-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The high voltage disconnect switch may fail to shut off power to the battery.

Consequence: Switch failure may lead to unintentionally working on an energized high voltage battery, increasing the risk of injury or death by electrical shock.

Remedy: Dealers will repair the high voltage disconnect connector bypass circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26505. 24V027000 · Electrical System:12v/24v/48v Battery:Cables

Reported: 2024-01-18 (January 18, 2024) · Model years: 2024

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024 IC EV school buses. The high voltage positive cables that connect the battery packs to the manual service disconnects (MSD) may have been mislabeled.

Consequence: A mislabeled electrical cable may be mistaken for a de-energized cable by a technician or first responder, increasing the risk of electrical shock and injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the high voltage cables and add white high voltage tape as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 05, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24502.

24V750000 · Service Brakes, Air:Disc:Caliper

Reported: 2024-10-02 (October 2, 2024) · Model years: 2024, 2025

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus EVSB and 2024-2025 CESB school buses. The brake caliper mounting bolts may not have been properly tightened, allowing the brake caliper to detach from the anchor plate.

Consequence: A detached brake caliper can cause a loss of braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Navistar will inspect, tighten, and replace any missing bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 4, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar Customer Service at 800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24513.

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC CESB and 2025 EVSB school buses. The driver's seat belt anchor bolt may come loose.

Consequence: A loose seat belt may not properly restrain the driver in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will install spacers and tighten the seat belt anchor bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 2, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25504.

25V522000 · Parking Brake

Reported: 2025-08-12 (August 12, 2025) · Model years: 2025

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2024-2026 IC Bus CESB and 2025 EVSB school buses. The tension spring may corrode and break, disengaging the barking brake.

Consequence: A parking brake that is not engaged as expected when the driver releases the brakes may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the parking brake cable and adjust the parking brake, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 6, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25511.

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB and 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The body panel joint may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such these vehicle fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Consequence: The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the interior vertical joint as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26504. International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB and CESB school buses. The driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Consequence: The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and entrance door seam, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 8, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26511.

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2026-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The mounting bracket bolts may have been improperly tightened, allowing the drive motor to detach.

Consequence: A detach drive motor can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will tighten or replace the drive mounting bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 22, 2026.
