While driving the Electric Power Steering turned off along with any services that relied on it, like the Lane Keep Assist and Lane Follow Assist. When this happened the power steering went out and it was almost impossible to turn the steering wheel presenting a safety risk.

Vehicle stated “check lane keep system”, and proceeded to lock the steering wheel whilst I was doing 65-70 mph on Interstate-5’s Grapevine section. I immediately had to apply brakes, turn on my hazard lights, and then nurse the car to the exit.

There have been two instances of fuel injector failures on the 2022 Veloster in within 20,000 miles. The first instance (cylinder 2) occurred at approximately 7,000 miles. The car experienced a sudden loss of power, followed by misfires and smoke from the tailpipe and the check engine light coming on during failure. The vehicle intermittently enters a state in which Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) and Power Steering simultaneously fail, indicated by lights and notifications on the cluster and resulting in complete loss of power steering. This malfunction can occur at any point in the vehicle's operation, which includes when the vehicle is parked, and lasts until the vehicle has had the battery disconnected or power has been turned off for at least 15 minutes, after which point the malfunction may still return upon next operation of the vehicle.

Vehicle stalled after misfire in cylinder 4. No signs of problems prior to failure of injector number 4 at 14000 miles. Upon investigating prior history of vehicle owner, customer reported misfire on cylinder 2, and 4 at 3 thousand miles. Technician replaced injector 2 only. Months after, my vehicle stalled due to misfire in cylinder 1, which was corrected by restarting car. DCT transmission failed to shift out of first gear, engine over rev light came on (white, yellow, RED - 7000 RPM!). Got it off the road. Car did it 3 times on the 50 mile trip. Had it towed to dealer, Thomas Hyundai in Cumberland, Md. They said they couldn't duplicate it, car is not showing any codes and they would not do any work on it without a TSB from Hyundai. When slightly braking, steering becomes heavy and resistant. Steering is slightly vague. Sometimes the lane departing warning shows up stating “check lane departing warning system” on my dash.
