Owner report 11468011 · 2022-06-07 (June 7, 2022)

I purchased a 2022 Tucson Hybrid on Friday 5/27. I purchased the insurance package as well as the Tommy Car protection. On Wednesday 6/1 it got stuck in neutral, thankfully in my driveway. I tried to put it in reverse, but it instead went into neutral. I couldn't get the emergency brake to engage at first and my car was rolling down my driveway, which leads to a lake. I can't even imagine what could have happened to myself or my four year old daughter who was in her car seat. I honestly didn't even trust the emergency brake. I am scared to ever…

Owner report 11549790 · 2023-10-13 (October 13, 2023)

The Hybrid system has twice now failed on this vehicle shortly after starting it up. The second incident, I drove not even 300 feet, got onto a main, very busy road, and the system made a loud grinding noise, error messages came on the infotainment system and dash and the car stopped moving. It basically stalled without stalling. I was nearly hit from behind but thankfully a quick thinking pedestrian noticed and flagged the car behind me to stop. It took 5 minutes to get the car to reset and move but meanwhile it kept saying I need to hit my br…

Owner report 11501658 · 2023-01-13 (January 13, 2023)

Three incidents of shifting from park to drive or reverse and car does not move in the drive or reverse. Turning PHEV car off seems to reset it. Third time car had a high pitch whine and trying to move in reverse caused a strong shudder and check engine light to come on. Diagnostic code for power train P072200. Turned car off and drove a few hours later and seemed to be back to normal. DTC cleared after a few days. Dealer unable to check for a month. Have dashcam footage of last incident.

Owner report 11755864 · 2026-08-10 (August 10, 2026)

Unintended acceleration and brake failure. While in the parking lot at [XXX]. The check brake warning light came on and prior to this when pressing the gas pedal the car was not responding or going very slow. I stopped looking for a place to park and when I took my foot of the brake pedal the car surged ahead at full speed. I slammed on the brakes but there was no response. Steering the car through the parking lot and across [XXX]. (a very busy, I was lucky not striking other cars or people) and crashed into a metal storage building. The car wa…

Owner report 11686862 · 2025-09-12 (September 12, 2025)

Advanced Driver Assistance System not listed: "Forward Attention Warning" I recently purchased the 2025 Hyundai Tucson PHEV Limited and on a road trip the next few days later I tried to activate the cruise control when all of a sudden a few seconds later it gave a warning and shut off. I tried again and it did the same thing. I had to pull over, check the setup menu and even though this is a process to deactivate the system it DOES stay active. After researching this online and looking up the Hyundai Manual, when you activate cruise control…

Owner report 11496529 · 2022-12-08 (December 8, 2022)

While accelerating on an on ramp leading to the interstate, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV Limited was in the Smart Drive Mode and the vehicle was in Electric Mode only being powered by the electric motor. I noticed that the vehicle was struggling to accelerate to the interstate speed of 70 MPH, I pressed the accelerator further in order to gain more speed to safely merge onto the interstate. With the accelerator pushed all the way, the engine eventually turned on after 5-7 seconds assisting the vehicle to reach the speed of 70 MPH. Once on the i…
