DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER FELL OFF THE NEW MOTORCYCLE WHILE DRIVING 10-15 MPH. THE CONTACT PLANS TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA TODAY CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM. UPDATED 7/3/2006 - THE DEALER REATTACHED THE CALIPER AND CHECKED ALL OTHER MAJOR COMPONENTS TO SEE IF THEY WERE TORQUED TO SPECS. THE TECHNICIAN FOUND THAT THE FRONT FENDER BOLTS AND THE BOLTS TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WERE LOOSE. ALL BOLTS WERE RE-TORQUED. *NM

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA VT750C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 35 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE REAR BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE DRIVER HAD TO MANUALLY PULL THE LEVER FOR THE FRONT BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS FRACTURED AND HAD CAUSED THE REAR BRAKES TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED TO SEND THE CONTACT A NEW PART FOR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA SHADOW AERO VT750C MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL WHEN THE MOTORCYCLE WAS STATIONARY. HE ALSO, OBSERVED A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL NEAR THE FUEL TANK . THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MOTORCYCLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION AT THIS TIME. THE MOTORCYCLE IS NOT BEING DRIVEN DUE TO THE CONCERN OF A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. THIS HAS EXISTED SINCE NEW. THE TRANSMISSION DURING ACCELERATION AND JUST AFTER SHIFTING TO A HIGHER GEAR WILL RELEASE, REV IN A FALSE NEUTRAL AND JUMP BACK INTO GEAR, MOST TIMES TO THE NEXT LOWER GEAR. THIS MOSTLY HAPPENS BETWEEN THIRD AND FOURTH GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING HARD BUT HAS HAPPENED GOING FROM FOURTH TO FIFTH. THIS CAUSES THE BACK WHEEL TO LOCK UP AND SKID TILL RPM MATCHES WITH WHEEL TRACTION. HONDA FIRST ADJUSTED THE CLUTCH ON THE HANDLEBARS, DIDN'T WORK. TWO WEEKS LATER THEY HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS AND CHANGED OUT THE ENTIRE SHIFTI…

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA VT750C SHADOW-AERO MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER HOWEVER RESTARTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED RIDENOW POWERSPORTS OCALA (3880 N US HWY 441, OCALA, FL 34475, (352) 732-853 HOWEVER, THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED.
