Owner report 11454004 · 2022-02-25 (February 25, 2022)

When entering a slight curve in the road, the steering wheel shakes and the dash says BRAKE. There is always a car in the oncoming lane, but well within its lane. I only have 1000 miles on the Ridgeline, but this has happened several times. In each instance the brakes were never applied, but it is quite unnerving. There are times when the shaking (vibrating) steering wheel is more violent which makes me think that it is close to applying the brakes. I had the same issue with my 2018 Accord. The dealer is aware but they say there is nothing wro…

Owner report 11454265 · 2022-02-26 (February 26, 2022)

Came up to a turn light, it was green. Went to make the turn and the vehicle slammed on the brakes. No car in front of me. Car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me because the car stopped so quickly. Lacerations to my neck from the seatbelt. After the car came to a full stop the light turned red. After light turned green again car moved forward as normal.

Owner report 11454741 · 2022-03-01 (March 1, 2022)

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that the vehicle had been driven for approximately a mile; after arriving at her residence, she was unable to shift the vehicle into reverse while depressing the button to select reverse. The contact stated that the emission, transmission, and an unknown sensor warning light were illuminated on the instrument panel during the failure. The contact's husband was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer where they diagnosed the vehicle with a possible battery failure. The battery was repla…

Owner report 11456463 · 2022-03-13 (March 13, 2022)

Equipment did not malfunction, but it behaved in a way that was not expected. Equipment available for inspection upon request. The actuation pressure of the shifter buttons is too high. Occasionally a full press on the reverse or drive buttons doesn’t shift the transmission into the expected drive mode. I pressed the reverse button, and expected the vehicle to shift to reverse, but when I applied gas it rolled forward. I was able to react quickly enough to stop the vehicle from colliding with my garage door. This happened again in the parking l…

Owner report 11515611 · 2023-04-05 (April 5, 2023)

After driving approximately 2.5 hours at 70 miles per hour, I took an exit off of the interstate and stopped at the stoplight at the bottom of the exit ramp. After about 1 minute the light turned green and I accelerated sharply and turned left. The Check Engine Light started to flash and the vehicle experienced a significant loss of power. I was unable to accelerate to match the speed of the traffic around me and created a hazard while attempting to find a safe place to pull off the road. After about 1/4 of a mile I was able to pull off the…

Owner report 11497942 · 2022-12-18 (December 18, 2022)

When stopped at a red light and idle engine auto-stop engaged the vehicle displayed battery warning light and a “Shift to Park” message on display. Vehicle had to be shifted into park and restarted manually before it could move. Your Questions: 1. Battery/Auto-stop-start system. Sure, you can inspect it. 2. Vehicle was non-responsive and immobile at a busy intersection. 3. No, the incident just happened today, but apparently the NHTSA is investigating a similar problem in the Pilot, a mechanically identical vehicle. https://wtop.com/national/…

Owner report 11505745 · 2023-02-06 (February 6, 2023)

On two seperate occasions now my 2022 Ridgeline, which has less than 5000 miles, has lost considerable power when attempting to merge onto a highway and had the check engine light start flashing. This has required me to quickly pull over off the road as I was merging and unable to get my speed up. When this occurred, I had been driving on a highway for about an hour and was merging from the highway onto a larger interstate. The temperature outside was approximately 20 degrees F and my gas tank was above 3/4 tank that was purchased 2 days earli…
