Owner report 10845906 · 2016-03-10 (March 10, 2016)

THE BRAKE PROPORTIONING VALVE IS FAILING, THIS PART DELIVERS BREAKING FLUID TI EACH BREAK. THE DEALER CAN NOT GET THE PART, I HAVE TRIED TO FIND IT ON THE INTERNET WITH NOT LUCK. SINCE THIS IS CRITICAL TO SAFETY I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR, HOWEVER AT TIMES I MUST. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 165,000 MILES. THEY HAVE TO PROVIDE SAFETY BELTS FOR LIFE, WHY NOT BREAK SYSTEMS? SINCE IT WAS IN FOR SERVICE THIS CAME UP, NO INCIDENT HAPPENED

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1996 HONDA DEL SOL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING, SHE NOTICED THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND WAS CONCERNED. THE CONTACT PERFORMED A BRAKE CHECK ON THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER SEAL DETACHED WHICH CAUSED BRAKE FLUID TO FLOW INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF…

Owner report 10031043 · 2003-08-08 (August 8, 2003)

ON MAY 24, 2003, I WAS DRIVING ALONG ON INTERSTATE 77 IN WEST VIRGINIA ON A SUNNY DAY IN MY 1995 HONDA DEL SOL WITH THE TOP OFF WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND OBEYING THE SPEED LIMIT. WITHIN SECONDS, SOMETHING HAPPENED TO. THE CAR SWERVED ACROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC INTO THE BIRM AND BACK ACROSS THOSE LANES. THE LAST THING I REMEMBER IS SEEING IS THE HILLSIDE COMING AT ME. I CAN'T BE SURE WHAT HAPPENED, BUT IT FELT LIKE THE CRUISE CONTROL SPED UP THE CAR WHEN THE TIRE BLEW. I AWOKE IN THE HOSPITAL ABOUT TWO AND ONE HALF HOURS LATER. NOT O…
