Reported: 1980-05-28 (May 28, 1980) · Model years: 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980
THE BOLTS THAT CLAMP THE MOR/RYDE SUSPENSION BEAM AND LOWER MOUNTING PLATE TO THE AXLE MAY BREAK AS A RESULT OF MISALIGNMENT OF THE BOLTS DUE TO NON-PARALLEL SURFACES OF THE UPPER BEAM PLATE AND THE LOWER BOTTOM PLATE. ANOTHER CONTRIBUTING FACTOR IS THE ABSENCE OF SHEAR BLOCKS TO THE UPPER SPACER PAD.
Remedy: MANUFACTURER WILL INSTALL NEW MOR/RYDE BEAM ASSEMBLIES, LOWER MOUNTING PLATES, BOLTS, NUTS AND WASHERS.
