Owner report 11757838 · 2026-08-18 (August 18, 2026)

On August 12, 2026, at 5,826 miles, my 2022 Harley-Davidson FXLRST M8 117 suffered catastrophic engine failure while traveling 65 mph on the freeway. I lost motive power and had to reach the shoulder, creating a serious crash hazard. About five miles into the ride, severe metallic clanging/pinging began. The engine shut down, locked completely and would not restart. No oil-pressure or other warning light illuminated. No engine/oil DTC was stored; only a battery fault was found. Harley-Davidson of Sacramento performed the 1,000-mile service at…

Owner report 11692802 · 2025-10-11 (October 11, 2025)

Coming to a stop I heard a clunking noise from the rear. Took it in to dealership and a replacement of rear wheel bearing was replaced. Driving on the freeway I pressed the deceleration button on the cruise control and the engine shut off but no loss of power to electrical. During take off and slowing I heard a clicking noise returned to dealer and they found the rear wheel to be out of spec.

Owner report 11604922 · 2024-07-27 (July 27, 2024)

New under warranty, 5,924 miles. Front end shudders and bounces when applying front brakes. Dealer service center said front brake rotors are warped and out of spec. No accident ‘YET’ but Harley Davidson is refusing to fix the brake problem under warranty (bike is 8 months old), stating brake rotors are a ‘wear’ item, although the Replacement rotors WOULD have a 1 year ‘warranty’. WTH ??? Brake rotors do not ‘wear out’ beyond OEM specs in 8 months and < 6,000 miles. Dealer claims ‘incorrect break in’ caused problem. My 2015 motorcycle bought fr…

Owner report 11696508 · 2025-10-30 (October 30, 2025)

On 29 October 2025 at approximately 0930, I was riding my motorcycle and getting ready to make left hand turn, was going approximately 5 to 10 MPH and a car made a quick turn into turn lane. I pressed rear brake pedal and rear tire lockes up and caused my rear of,bike to slide out and went down. Damage was limited, broke clutch lever, scratxhed fairing on left side as well as left foot peg mount. Had rear frame slider pegs and saved bike from damage. An ABS Code generated as well as a BCM code and tilt code. I have been having issues with the…
