AS THE VEHICLE WAS BEING MANEUVERED OUT OF A GARAGE AT SLOW SPEED, A "CLUNK" WAS HEARD, FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY COMPLETE FRONT BRAKE FAILURE. MECHANICAL INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE "CLUNK" IN QUESTION WAS CAUSED BY THE FRICTION MATERIAL FROM A FRONT BRAKE PAD FALLING ONTO THE GROUND. SUBSEQUENT MECHANICAL INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE FRICTION MATERIAL (OR LINING) HAD SEPARATED FROM THE STEEL "BACKING" OF THREE OUT OF THE FOUR FRONT BRAKE PADS. MECHANIC PERFORMING THE INSPECTION INDICATED THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND SUCH INCIDENT HE HAD SEEN IN A …
