Owner report 10939012 ยท 2017-01-01 (January 1, 2017)
UNABLE TO APPLY FRONT BRAKE LEVER. LEVER COULD NOT BE COMPRESSED RESULTING IN COMPLETE LOSS OF FRONT BRAKES. THIS OCCURRED WHILE BAKE WAS IN MOTION HOWEVER WAS ABLE TO SAFELY STOP WITH REAR BAKE ONLY. DEALER IN TEMECULA DIAGNOSED AS FAILED ABS HCU UNIT, NOT RELATED TO DEFECTIVE COMPONENT OR OTHER MANUFACTURING FLAW. JUST RECENTLY SAW AN ARTICLE INDICATING THAT THIS MAY BE A MORE WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM. POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS INJURY SEEMS HIGH AS ABS UNITS SHOULD NOT FAIL AN IF A FAILURE DOES OCCUR SHOULD BE SOME FORM OF FAILSAFE BACKUP.
