THE BRAKE COMPRESSOR FAILED TO FUNCTION WHEN ENGAGED GOING DOWN AN INCLINE. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN/STOPPING. WHEN THIS OCCURRED, REPEATED DEPRESSION OF THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A COMPUTER GLITCH BECAUSE OF A PROGRAMMING PROBLEM. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED BUT SINCE NO FAULT CODE WAS FOUND NO REPAIR HAS BEEN DONE. THIS IS ON A CHEVROLET CUT AWAY CHASSIS. NO ENGINE BRAKING . WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD "POP". I THOUGHT WE MIGHT HAVE BLOWN A TIRE SO I PULLED OVER TO INVESTIGATE. THE TIRES WERE FINE. I COULD SMELL COOLANT, SO I OPENED THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FAN BLADES HAD COME APART, TEARING APART THE FAN SHROUD, AND ULTIMATELY PUNCTURING MULTIPLE HOLES IN THE RADIATOR. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF THE FREEWAY (I WAS RIGHT NEXT TO AN OFFRAMP), THE VEHICLE STALLED, LUCKILY IT IS EQUIPPED WITH BACK UP ELECTRICAL BRAKES, I WAS ABLE TO KEEP CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
